about

I am very proud to release this collaborative live performance from The Walnut Room on June 13th, 2013. Many of Denver's finest musicians came together to make this happen, lending their voices and instrumentation skills to create a warm, communal, memorable rendition of a select number of my songs. We hope you enjoy!

about

Anthony Ruptak Commerce City, Colorado

"Ruptak performs with raw, wild soul. His raspy voice channels a sound beyond his years, like a railroad bluesman trapped in a mountaineer's heart." ~Luke Redfield

"Leaving the earth bare and naked and ashamed, but somehow grateful...Anthony sings backwards into the afternoon, over the land." ~ The Denver Syntax

Track Name: Midnight Friends
Do I collect my alterations for the crowd I'm buried in
An allegation; waking dreams
That keep my head on edge
Do I select the thoughts and pictures
that I keep revisiting?
My midnight friends would beg objections
for to keep their sturdy hitch

Now tiny rivers wide enough to form
obstructions to the ants
Trace veins all through
the desiccated asphalt desert
Committed only to the notion
that some spring must still exist
I fed the squirrels for
the fox's patient longing to be fed

And still
I am sleep walking
still
I am a solid wreck
So look for love
and break your neck

Deception's in the truths that we invent

Am I so different nowadays
that I am old enough to doubt
There is an ever present vacancy
in every word I spout
For all my learning and all my searching for
the scarcely traveled route

I keep repeating
Slowly bleeding
I have figured this much out

And still
I am sleep talking
and still
I am a solid wreck
So look for love
and break your neck
Deception's in the truths that we invent

And still
I am sleep walking
still
I am a solid wreck
So look for love
and break your neck

Deception's in the truths
deception's in the truths
deception's in the truths
that we invent
